Overall mission of Actuarial is to protect Aetna's financial integrity with sound reserving and risk management practices as well as product designs that meet customer needs and pricing that produces returns to shareholders commensurate with the risks undertaken. Actuarial is responsible for anticipating and recognizing matters that materially affect financial integrity and making sound, unbiased reports on these issues.
Join the new actuarial shared services team supporting Aetnas local and regional business across all plan markets. The central plan support team consists of high performing actuarial talent who have the following team mission:
Assist with Ad Hoc Daily and Deep Dive Tasks During Capacity Shortages
Support Recurring Tasks
Collaborate on and Support Pilots/Testing of New Tools, Processes and Ideas
Develop and Maintain Training Initiatives
Share Best Practices and Local Market Innovations Across Territories
All positions in this team are new, so there is an opportunity for you shape this role.
Responsibilities for this role:
Representing the plan markets in specific strategic initiatives, special projects, and multifunctional work groups
Facilitating interactions with Rating System and Tool Experts and Corporate Actuarial Teams
Performing and centralizing scaled activities at the national level
Creating/reinventing innovative processes and tools to streamline market activities. Bring local processes to national scale as it makes sense
Coordinating/project managing rating activities across markets
Acting as cross market actuarial resource; playing various roles on local market teams when there are resource gaps. This includes, but is not limited to:
o Rate Review
o Peer Review
o Plan support
o Experience studies and other analyses
o State and federal filings
o DOI Objections
o Rating System loading and testing
Supporting the LRB training program
Previous health pricing experience and exposure to Aetna rating systems and tools is desired. Willing to consider motivated senior consultant.
Highly preferred Traits: Adaptability, Great Communication Skills, Organized, Pro-Active, Leadership, Creativity, Customer Focused, Analytical, Collaborative, Positive Attitude, Motivated
3+ years relevant experience.
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Actuarial/Associate of the Society of Actuaries is required
