This position is part of a small actuarial team supporting the Dental and Vision products. The team works cross-functionally across the Dental and Vision organization, with responsibilities including pricing, experience studies, rate filings, rating tools, product development analysis, network support, underwriting support, planning and forecasting, reporting and other ad hoc analysis.

Fundamental Components:

This position will be responsible for a number of critical actuarial functions including:

  • Leading the competitive discount analysis, evaluating data submission processes to consultants and working to improve benchmarking

  • Developing a benefit index to improve pricing and reporting accuracy

  • Conducting experience studies, including seasonality studies and deep dive analyses

  • Acting as subject matter expert about data for both Dental and Vision, enhancing reporting and conducting ad hoc analyses

  • Supporting planning and forecasting

  • Pricing and filing Individual Dental

  • Supporting Coventry and GDS Legacy business and processes.

    This position will have broad exposure to the Dental and Vision products and functions. The candidate for this position must be able to work independently, demonstrate leadership, manage multiple projects and develop analytical solutions to issues. The candidate should take ownership of assigned projects and responsibilities, identifying areas of focus or improvement. The ability to clearly communicate to various audiences is also required.


  • 5+ years of relevant experience (Dental and Vision experience not specifically required)

  • Bachelor's degree

  • ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) is required or FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries) preferred

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Strong technical and analytical skills

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross functionally


    The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.


    Actuarial/Associate of the Society of Actuaries is required

    Actuarial/Fellow of the Society of Actuaries is desired
