The Development Advisor will have direct input in the strategy of Aetna s Infrastructure as Code initiative as well as the Infrastructure Machine Learning initiative where you will develop models using Machine Learning, Deep Learning and other similar technologies to predict and analyze data on hardware and software systems within a large server infrastructure to prevent outages and pinpoint errors. The Development Advisor will drive design and development best practices and coach/mentor the development team on a day to day basis. The ideal candidate will be an innovator that grows the team s abilities through positive guidance and encouragement with a passion for producing an excellent customer experience and designing highly supportable solutions. The Development Lead will have the opportunity to grow into leading development efforts of other strategic initiatives.
Lead a team of developers through advice, guidance, and best practices. Ability to instill coding excellence and quality into the team and culture. A passion to learn new technologies and skills. Excellent communicator and collaborator, capable of working independently and in small groups of developers. Lead / assist with formulation and definition of solution scope and objectives while working with a team of Developers / Analysts on functional requirements and specifications. Able to use Object Oriented Design and Unit Testing / Test Driven Development techniques to design, code, test, debug, and document the automated services. Independently performs and assists other team members in providing ongoing system maintenance, research, problem resolution, and on-call support tasks for existing systems. Conducts investigations of considerable complexity. Able to provide guidance and training to less-experienced programmers/analysts. With limited direction, supports the implementation of systems into production. Researches emerging technologies to determine impact on existing services and identify improvement opportunities.
•3 years experience with ServiceNow configuration and development •8 years experience with application development •At least 1 year experience leading a team or running a project with similar duties •Relational database modeling experience •Experience leading & working with remote resources
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
