LOCATION: Position will sit in our Hartford, CT office
Leads a team of highly specialized professional staff. Accountable for the effective administration, project management and delivery of high quality products and services that meet customer objectives. Impacts the results of business goals by leading others in identifying and resolving complex technical, operational and organizational problems.
Manages engineering projects by developing resource planning for business roadmap in advance; removing barriers to success; ensuring others have the information, training, resources, and implementation time needed to succeed; developing and upgrading work assignments and processes to accomplish goals across functions, organizations, and geographies; reviewing project progress against timeline; and developing and communicating logical, convincing justifications, including lessons learned, to build commitment and support.
Reduces customer impact due to applications systems issues by ensuring high quality using quality standards; measuring sales loss and performing root cause analysis; publishing results; and developing future prevention plan.
Provides leadership to diverse work streams & enterprise staff functions, applying business expertise to execute strategic plans and leverage opportunities.
Implements technical software development strategy for applications and systems using current business roadmap by analyzing competitive trends and patterns; analyzing the technology landscape; evaluating short and long term implications; and communicating strategies and change initiatives clearly.
Drives continuous process improvement and innovation by identifying inefficiencies in current processes; improving agility of the team; and adopting industry trends for innovation.
Drives Infrastructure architecture and strategy including strategic platform selection, optimization, integration and alignment with Enterprise Architecture and Application Development
5+ years experience in complex computing environment with a background in mainframe, midrange, or distributed database platforms.
Demonstrated leadership and problem solving abilities.
Experience with application development/technology support packages, product/technology evaluations.
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
