Responsible for managing the Sourcing and Category Management team supporting the Healthcare Services spend category. This will include category strategy development, RFP management, business case development, supplier negotiation, contract development, internal stakeholder communication and relationship management, and supplier risk management. The Healthcare Services category includes, but is not limited to, medical records retrieval and review, provider networks, care management, health assessment services, member services, utilization management, wellness programs, pharmacy, and professional services.
Manages and coaches a team of sourcing and category analysts within the Healthcare Services sourcing category, including; staff selection, performance assessments, setting team objectives and financial results, training and development, workload management, reviewing analytic recommendations, ensuring successful deal negotiations, for the purpose of retaining high caliber staff with diverse capabilities. Partners with Aetna business units to develop and manage sourcing and category strategies that translate business objectives into global sourcing opportunities that drive savings and manage risk. Leads/directs strategic plans for, and executes highly complex sourcing projects (over $15 million) to drive value for the Healthcare Services category based on an understanding of the business units needs, the supply market, spend baseline and industry benchmarks. Drafts complex agreements, Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP) and Requests for Quotation (RFQ) documentation (for projects in excess of $15 million) with minimal direction using traditional or e-sourcing applications. Independently negotiates complex contractual terms and conditions (for contracts in excess of $15 million) in order to mitigate operational, compliance and contractual risk. Stays abreast of business drivers related to the healthcare and insurance industry, the commodities within the Healthcare Services spend category, and the respective supply base. Collaborates with Financial Managers on significant matters that impact financial reporting and metrics. Facilitates and implements change management to improve organization effectiveness.
10+ years Sourcing/Category Mgt experience, preferably in the healthcare industry College Degree or equivalent work experience required-preferably in Supply Chain/Business/Finance Healthcare Services commodity knowledge required Strong management skills Good interpersonal/communication skills and ability to form strong client relationships Strong negotiation and conflict Mgt skills.
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
