A unique Forensic Architecture group , part of larger EA team, is looking for an inspiring technologist with a balance of innovation, critical thinking and technical skills to play a key role in achieving the organizations goals.

This group is looking for a Digital Information Architect to become a key member of the team. This role is a special opportunity to become a key influencer to technology challenges and opportunities across the Aetna organization . Exposure to broad business, technology and organizational requirements will invaluable for those candidates who are looking to become the future technology experience leaders in Aetna and across the industry.

Scope of Activities

Research and identify underlying core and global data and information opportunities , then coordinate near-term as well as sustainable options, including required changes in information management / architecture, software design or infrastructure topology Evaluate, build consensus and arbitrate data / information architecture. This would include core data warehousing / systems of record to contemporary big data solutions both home grown as well as information appliances. Analyze operational and structural problems related to information integration through a cross technology lens of architecture, development and data infrastructure Collaborate with cross-organizational teams including digital, IT strategy, analytics and program analysts Codify lessons learned and best practices to make future forensics exercises easier and prevent similar issues


Minimum of 3 - 5 years recent and related experience in information systems development or implementation. (not a senior level position) Experience with general architectural abstractions and design patterns as well as those specific to data, information, and insights management. Experience with object-oriented modeling principles (inheritance, polymorphism) and methods (use cases, sequence diagrams, etc.). Experience with highly governed systems of record to flexible analytical platforms – on premise and cloud. Experience or exposure to analytical tools and methods – open sources as well as industry standard tools Demonstrate considerable knowledge of data, information, and multi-platform and hybrid architectures and development processes. Leverage knowledge of analytic functions and data lake / data warehouse architectures and technologies. Experience in data warehousing is desirable. Data management within Hadoop platform is desirable. Communicate and collaborate in an outcome-centric style. Demonstrate the ability to inspire innovative solutions in a leadership style that engages others. Build creditability of a team and within a team.


The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
