The Market Research Manager is expected to gather insights from multiple sources of data & analytics that will inform fact-based strategies and plans that provoke innovation to drive growth and financial performance. They will be primarily responsible for supporting the business through gathering intelligence and actively monitoring regional market conditions. Through primary market research, competitors, secondary data, provide insights to assist with all aspects of regional marketing and KPI measurements. The manager will identify the appropriate research methodology and supporting techniques to meet a defined business objective. They will curate a synthesis of pertinent secondary data, primary research and internal sales, market trends to develop appropriate recommendations to inform local, regional market focus. This role requires someone who will champion the voice of the customer and will actively communicate important influences (such as market, competitive conditions) and their potential impact to the business. We are looking for a candidate who craves information and understands how to take a problem and attack it by developing data-based hypotheses and test plans.

Fundamental Components:

The Market Research Manager will conduct local market surveillance; actively monitor market and competitor activities leveraging a variety of sources. This position requires developing an understanding of local market conditions and activities including payer competitors, market hospital/provider systems, ACOs and Integrated delivery networks. They will gather intelligence through various tools, process, sales approaches (CI dashboard, knowledge management,, other related CRM) and will deliver ongoing sales and marketing updates to inform critical local strategies. They will work with management to summarize the businesses current knowledge and identifies gaps to support enhanced decision making. Can help reframe requests and contribute to efficient use of resources, time and budget spent on business requests. Engages with stakeholders to ensure understanding of strategic, tactical plans and priorities. Supports the development of compelling insights into action; involves key business partners in the process, enabling business application. Designs presentations to generate discussion and to provoke business action; can present information to achieve objective and respond to unexpected reactions; encourages debate around research recommendations and consistently advocates for customer point of view.


  • 5+ years market, competitive intelligence gathering (primary CI collection, secondary monitoring) required.

  • 5+ years experience in Primary Market Research.

  • Market Research Agency experience.

  • Experience with data visualization & 3rd party data sources (e.g. Competiscan, Mintel, Health Leaders/DRG, etc) Health insurance, hospital or other health related experience.

  • Multi-Cultural Market Segmentation experience.

  • Professional communication skills both written and verbal, able to present data to Executive Management team members.


    The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
