POSITION SUMMARY

Privacy Managers will be responsible for working with business and functional areas across Aetna to address privacy regulatory requirements and ethical/reputational concerns in the development and operation of services, products and capabilities

Fundamental Components:

Depending on area of expertise or business alignment, incumbent may be responsible for:

Conducting privacy impact assessments in a manner that is compliant, ethical and consistent with consumer expectations and Aetna values.

Maintaining current expertise in the evolving laws and regulations governing privacy and security and staying curious and informed about the external landscape and developments in data and technology capabilities impacting privacy and security

Supporting enterprise business compliance with HIPAA, state and international privacy laws

Assessing and providing input into business processes and controls

Providing supporting expertise for privacy incident investigations

Developing and conducting privacy training or awareness activities on an enterprise or business specific level

Providing unique privacy expertise related to particular business areas such as Behavioral Health, Medicaid, Pharmacy or International

Serving as the Privacy Office Liaison for particular business or functional areas; maintaining strong and collaborative relationships with business leaders.

Supporting regulatory or customer inquiries or issues.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

Expertise in HIPAA, state or international privacy law and regulation required.

Strong verbal and written skills and ability to assess and balance risk

Experience working independently but collaboratively and working with senior leaders

Demonstrated strategic thinking and risk assessment skills

Understanding of Aetnas business, processes, systems and digital strategy preferred

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
