Aetna is seeking self-motivated team players who enjoy working in a dynamic and fast paced environment where excellent teamwork and strong collaborative relationships are imperative, for the Strategic Proposal Consultant role in National Accounts. The primary responsibility for the Strategic Proposal Consultant is to support the growth of Aetna membership by managing the development of customer focused and strategically oriented proposals that focus on overall capabilities and the Aetna value story.

Fundamental Components:

Strategic Proposal Consultants are responsible for Project Management. They participate in the discussion of strategy, make sure it is reflected in our proposal and have overall responsibility and accountability for the quality and timeliness of our response. They work on a wide range of proposals for National Accounts constituents (brokers/consultants, prospects and customers). This position offers a high level of visibility in National Accounts. The work we do provides our team members with a broad perspective of our business, customers and the solutions we offer. Past candidates have gone on to success in positions of greater responsibility both within National Accounts and in other parts of our company. The position requires an individual who can communicate very effectively verbally and in writing with all audiences, resolve problems, prioritize, multi-task, and build and maintain relationships with our field organization and subject matter experts throughout the company. This position is a good match for a candidate who thrives in a team setting and wants to broaden and grow their health care and insurance knowledge. The successful candidate has the ability to collaborate and influence those who contribute to the success of the project. The ability to manage the flow of incoming work with aggressive deadlines effectively and efficiently is critical. This position is based in Connecticut.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:· 1 – 3 years of work experience in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.· Foundational level of experience in project management, proposal management, and the health insurance industry. · Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills · Exhibit the ability to able to manage multiple projects, adapt to rapidly changing priorities, and contribute to the strategies and creative solutions that help drive success with our customers.· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet navigation is required.


The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree

Telework Specifications:

Option for telework will be evaluated after approximately 1 year of employment, at that point it would only be Part Time.
