The Wellness Coach utilizes a collaborative process, in conjunction with the client's health and wellness staff, to plan and implement wellness events and programs to promote/influence members in decisions related to achieving and maintaining optimal health status. The goal of these programs/events is to help members achieve healthy lifestyle behaviors and align these lifestyle behaviors with individual wellness goals

Fundamental Components:

Fundamental Components Conduct telephonic, and/or online clinical coaching assessments and sessions. Provides recommendations for healthy behavior changes according to established protocols. Assist members in weight management, quitting tobacco, stress management, nutrition, physical activity and other healthy lifestyle behavior change programs. Identify co-morbid conditions, hospitalizations, prescriptions, and other factors that could impact the coaching and support needs of the member outside the scope of the health coaching program. Support clinical integration and collaboration on member s care plan in conjunction with other health professionals. Three to five years experience with healthy lifestyle coaching for weight management, tobacco cessation, nutrition, physical activity and/or stress management. Experience in facilitating patient/ client positive behavioral change. Demonstrated ability to communicate, problem solve, and work effectively with people, use good judgment in new and challenging situations. Background in motivational interviewing, active listening skills, Transtheoretical Model, mindfulness based and other evidence-based coaching techniques preferred. Strong clinical decision making skills. Strong desires to coach, motivate, and support members. Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team. An understanding of management of chronic health conditions, especially as it relates to Diabetes, Obesity and Hyperlipidemia. Excellent computer skills including MS Office applications such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint. Full Time Positions * Willingness for flexible hours desired; hours for this position may include evenings and weekends; Flexible day and evening hours are required to meet client availability; Our office is open 8:30 am to 11 pm EST Monday through Friday and 9 AM to 2 PM Saturday. This position would work 2 days a week 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm/est.


3-5 years of coaching experience

Experience in wellness related areas:weight management, tobacco cessation, stress management, nutrition, physical activity or health lifestyle behavior change

Background in motivational interviewing, active listening skills, Transtheoretical Model, mindfulness based and other evidence-based coaching techniques preferred.

Tobacco Cessation Cert preferred


The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

The onsite wellness coach must have a strong desire to educate, motivate and coach members to achieve their optimal health status. As well, this candidate must be able to partner effectively with the client to understand their wellness objectives and support their culture of wellness strategy. Tobacco Cessation Certification preferred.
