Family Summary/Mission

The creation, analysis and reporting of financial information on both a US GAAP and local regulatory basis used to support both management decision making and/or communication to internal/external constituents, along with the maintenance of accounting and internal control related processes in line with Aetna standards. The International finance team has an obligation to protect the company s financial records.

 

Position Summary/Mission

Supervise staff and/or unit priorities, or oversees processes, financial systems or issues related to the production and dissemination of financial information for internal/external audience. Assist in or supervise the fulfillment of the Company's internal and external financial reporting obligations, internal control objectives and financial system design and operation.

Responsible for complex tasks and assignments associated with the unit s financial records

 

Fundamental Components & Physical Requirements include but are not limited to (* denotes essential functions)

 

Works independently to:

  • Coordinate and supervise finance activities and functions. Supervises financial analysis activities and staff as necessary

  • Review of reconciliation and maintenance of schedules and analyses supporting inernal management financial information and disclosures.

  • Review data for analysis

  • Analyzes transactions and validates source data to ensure accuracy, accountability and financial data integrity

  • Prepare and review financial reports. Responsible for preparation and distribution of financial management reports

  • Provides information and assistance to facilitate the completion of monthly management results.

  • Provides accurate, timely and insightful analysis in response to ad hoc management requests or issues

  • Reviews account analyses and roll-forwards to help identify unusual results, trends, issues, necessary accruals, etc.

  • Work with appropriate responsible parties to resolve.

  • Participates in and influence the design, operation, enhancement and monitoring of the Company s internal control structure including reconciliation controls on bank accounts, g/l accounts, subsidiary systems and financial reporting system.

  • Prepare account analyses and roll-forwards to help identify unusual trends, and accounting and internal control issues. Work with appropriate responsible parties to communicate issues and resolution plans.

  • Responsible for various elements of the entity s monthly financial close process including: recording of journal entries, maintenance and reconciliation of financial systems, and accurate communication to management.

  • Assist in the implementation of company initiatives including: improved management information requirement, financial planning and analysis tools, and new products and services.

  • Assists in the production and review of information designed to meet the entity s capital requirements.

  • Support accounting policy objectives including: preparation of policy documents, sign off on accounting policy implications of new business initiatives. Confirms all policies are followed.

  • Trains staff to meet job and competency requirements.

  • Provides professional, prompt, and accurate service to all internal and external customers.

  • Adheres to best practices, and strives for continuous improvement.

  • Works to maintain and/or improve the financial process.

  • Supports and/or supervises budget development and forecast cycles.

  • Collaborates with the business leads on planning/forecasting.

  • Ensure compliance with Aetna and AGB internal control and financial reporting guidance

 

Background/Experience Desired

  • Proven experience of Microsoft Dynamics GP software

  • Proven and relative experience of OH+ software

Education and Certification Requirements

  • University degree in the business disciplines of Finance, Economics, or Accounting.

  • Must speak at least one Chinese Language (Mandarin and Cantonese preferred)
