Aetna Contract Negotiator in Metairie, Louisiana

This is a contracting position that will be responsible for recruiting, contracting and servicing physician, hospital, and/or ancillary providers in Louisiana as well as any other contracting projects as assigned for commercial and Medicare growth in accordance with company standards.

Fundamental Components:

  • Primary contract resource for provider contracts.

  • Support resource for hospitals.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with our provider partners.

  • Educate internal and external parties, as needed to ensure compliance with contracts and policies.

  • Collaborate cross functionally to ensure resolution of escalated issues or projects.

  • Meet with key providers to ensure service levels are meeting expectations.

  • Manage contract performance in support of network quality, availability and financial goals and strategies


  • The successful candidate must have 4-6 years of network development experience or comparable healthcare experience in contracting/negotiating.

  • Must have knowledge of various payment methodologies for healthcare.

  • Strong communication, critical thinking, problem solving and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of the managed care industry and Medicare.


    The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
