POSITION SUMMARY

This position on Aetna's Digital Communications team plays a key role in further shaping and advancing Aetna's digital communications and thought leadership efforts. Reporting to the VP of Digital Communications, this is a highly visible and collaborative position. Working closely with Enterprise Communications leads and other business partners, you will help them achieve their communications goals by creating innovative digital content and engagement plans to help engage varied audiences with Aetna's story.

You should be a digital communications pro, well versed in applying analytics and metrics to communications plans, skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously and working across teams in a matrixed organization. You have proven yourself capable of exerting influence on others without direct management responsibility -- a true team player who thrives on regular interaction with team members across the organization.

This position will be based in our New York City office.

Fundamental Components:

-Work across Enterprise Communications to plan and execute new methods of digital communications and engagement, from audience identification through content & channel strategy.

-Support Aetna's key communications narrative themes with unique digital communications plans that ensure effective strategies and tactics to engage desired audiences. You would be an internal consultant and partner with communications leads for each of these initiatives.

-Manage Aetna's social thought leadership on LinkedIn and other social media channels, working with business leaders to refine their social profiles, plan content themes and posts, work with leaders/ their teams to manage content calendar, measure engagement.

-Maintain Aetna's LinkedIn Company Page, creating and publishing content, managing page engagement, measuring results.

-Work closely with and influence teams responsible for content production to ensure content is appropriately targeted to and adapted for audiences across digital and social channels and platforms.

-Maintain digital agency and IT relationships to ensure consistent innovation and effectiveness of digital communications efforts, and deliver measureable results aligned with core communications strategy.

-Measure progress and results, adjusts as needed to achieve necessary outcomes.

-Identify new and innovative ways to engage audiences and grow our audience.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

· 5-8 years digital communications experience working for a Fortune 50 company and/or with Fortune 50 clients at an agency. · A track record of success in digital communications, especially in the areas of digital content and audience engagement, providing direction, analysis and business recommendations to senior leadership · Demonstrated experience working with business leaders to advance thought leadership using digital/social channels; specific experience with LinkedIn preferred · Solid knowledge of digital/ website analytics tools and measurement methods· Excellent writing, editing, creative and verbal communication skills.· Superior project management and presentation skills· Ability to build relationships, integrate strategies, and connect the dots between messages, timing and activities under other leaders influence· Must be entrepreneurial, resourceful, and comfortable working in a small team environment where self-sufficiency is essential· Health care experience preferred; consumer experience desirable · Combination of agency and in-house background preferred

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
