POSITION SUMMARY

Require extensive knowledge about Mainframe online/batch application development and application software delivery methodologies such as Waterfall & Agile. Require very good analytical/programming skills and good knowledge about all data, service models and service standards. Act as an expert in technical/system knowledge and work closely with onsite/offshore vendor resources to implement technical changes based on the business requirements. Provides focus on cross-application integration & solution design as needed to ensure release success and make sure system designed in strategic manner to incorporate future business needs. Act as technical lead and make the necessary judgment/review of the new system design for various projects/enhancement requests. Also work as the point of contact in case there are business critical problems

Fundamental Components:

Hands on experience with mainframe/web services and data models. Familiar with EDI 270/271 transactions or familiar with healthcare eligibility and benefit systems. Leads or acts as chief technical contributor to translate the business requirements to technical specifications. Works on Agile and waterfall methodology projects and provide all design deliverables based on the project requirement. Coordinates the application technical design, integration and system testing, according to detailed test plans to ensure high-quality systems. Assists business partners with User Acceptance Testing. Prefer very good knowledge about health care areas such as eligibility & benefits, claim and Aetna internal systems. Acts as a Subject matter expert to lead other team members and make sure design & quality of the code meet all Aetna standards.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

Minimum of 6 or more years in application program development experience. Require knowledge about Mainframe online/batch application development and application software delivery methodologies such as Waterfall & Agile. Require very good analytical/programming skills and knowledge about all data, service models and service standardsMinimum of 6 + years systems analysis and program development experience with some task or team leadership. Involvement in all phases of the systems development life cycle. Aware of emerging new technologies and able to evaluate for appropriate use. Experience with Waterfall and/or Agile.Experience with application development/technology support packages, product/technology evaluations.Previous experience with EDI transactions or eligibility and benefit health care systems is desirable.Prefer basic knowledge of core Java application development.

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
