POSITION SUMMARY

The Business Project Lead oversees and assists the Technical Project Lead who oversees the technical aspect of the integration of the State Level Health Information Exchanges (HIE) and the Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems at the hospitals.

Fundamental Components:Responsibilities include making initial contacts with the HIEs, hospitals working with the health plans, setting up subsequent meetings, managing the action items coming out of the meetings and following up to their closure. The HIE and EHR projects are typically projects whose resources and vendors are controlled by the State HIEs or hospitals. The ideal candidate should be a team player and a problem solver who will involve all of the stakeholders that are a part of the integration. This position requires a keen sense of observation to effectively oversee the analysis, planning, design and development being performed by the project team in order to support accurate maintenance of support systems for specific business areas. Influences change or enhancements to business processes, policies and system infrastructure to improve information quality, availability and access. Will develop and participate in presentation and consultation to internal and external business partners on information services, capabilities and performance results. Qualified candidates must be skilled at negotiating resources in peer organizations to meet high priority department objectives and deadlines, proactively evaluate project activities and demonstrate solid experience in building contingency plans, executing corrective action and monitoring issue resolution to mitigate risks such as scope and/or budget variances. Candidate must show outstanding time management and quantify/qualify work relative to project team budget, plans and expenses, as well as efficiently communicate progress to appropriate business partners.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

Excellent verbal & written communication skills. Demonstrates the ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects. Responsible for managing, implementing and training multiple technology projects in partnership with health plans/hospitals. Ensures that project tasks are completed & delivered on time and within budget and that the project delivers promised business functionality.

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Project Management/Project Management Professional (PMP) is desired

Telework Specifications:

Position is initially a full-time, office-based role until the candidate becomes more knowledgeable with Aetna projects and depending on implementation requirements, position can be considered for full-time or part-time telework.

This position gets an opportunity to work with the nationwide health information exchanges, their vendors, hospital systems, and their EMR vendors to integrate their clinical data with the Aetnas payer data in the life saving care coordination.
