Aetna Sr Datastage ETL Developer in Phoenix, Arizona

Technical professional who will be involved in supporting Datastage (IBM) across the enterprise within the Application Development Center of Excellence. Will act as an advocate for the Datastage developer community and ensure the development community has the tools and practices for productive and quality development.

Fundamental Components:

  • Technical contributor to translation of business requirements to technical specifications, design of new applications or enhancements including integration of purchased solutions in accordance with Enterprise wide strategy.

    -Efficiently utilizes the prescribed methodology in a disciplined manner, which may include the execution of key technical reviews at projects gates and/or milestones.

  • Performs tasks for the completion of unit testing, integration and system testing, according to detailed test plans to ensure high-quality systems.

  • Assists business partners with User Acceptance Testing. Independently supports the implementation of systems into production.

  • Interacts and receives general direction from Project Managers or Application architects.

    -Apply industry wide understanding of technology, tools and methodologies to assist in developing solutions on projects of strategic significance.

  • Evaluate and identify issues and constraints pertaining to technology approach; coordinate evaluation of solutions to insure adherence to Aetna technology standards (such as security, database, etc.)


    Minimum of 2 years of IBM Datastage experience requiredMinimum of 4-6+ years experience in systems analysis and application program development, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Experience with application development support software packages. Understand the business and functional requirements that apply to the applications supporting a sub-domain or domain as well as their relevant interfaces.


    The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
