Aetna Sr Informatics Analyst in Plantation, Florida

The successful candidate for this position will be a skilled report developer (SQL and Crystal Reports) with the ability to balance multiple priorities. Responsible for executing and completing specific deliverables and activities to service requests for reporting business system changes. The candidate will be accountable for collaboration in the design of reporting system initiatives, along with development, quality testing, and ongoing maintenance of these implemented solutions. The ideal candidate is one that loves turning data into information in a creative and innovated fun environment.

Fundamental Components:

  • 5+ years of relevant application/reporting programming experience. Healthcare or Disability industry experience is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of health care claims, products, and systems.

  • Experience in working in a data warehouse environment as well as the ability to work with large data sets from multiple data sources.

  • Strong SQL and Crystal reports programming skills.

  • Knowledge of analytic programming tools and methods which include SQL, Business Objects, Crystal Reports.

  • Understanding of relational databases, data systems and data warehouses.

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. Able to present information to various audiences.

  • Knowledge of other reporting platforms such as: Business Objects, Microsoft Access, web development technology, big data analytics, data mining.

  • Stays informed about industry trends, research findings and evaluation methods. (*)

  • Turns analysis into business/customer solutions. (*)

  • Creates business applications to deliver clinical or analytic solutions to constituents

  • Responsible for project commitments to quality and on-time deliverables. (*)

  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and multiple projects concurrently (*)

  • Willingness to understand and probe into technical details.

  • Contributes to a motivated work environment by working effectively to achieve common goals.

  • Creates and evaluates the data needs of assigned projects and assures the integrity of the data.

  • Under general direction, independently executes analyses or reports to meet project needs.

  • May mentor other analysts.


  • 5+ years of relevant application/reporting programming experience. Healthcare or Disability industry experience is preferred.

  • Extensive experience working in a data warehouse environment as well as the ability to work with large data sets from multiple data sources.

  • 5+ years developing using SQL and Crystal reports programming skills.

  • 2+ years of MS SISS programming skills desired

  • Bachelor's degree preferred


The level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor'sdegree or equivalent experience.

· Incumbent will be working on a team of12 developers

· The team experience ranges from 4 to20+ years of programming skills.

· Fast pace, environment with a veryfluid team that produces reports and data delivery to support our internaloperational units as well as our external clients.

· The incumbent will be responsible fordesigning, developing and maintaining new reports and data. There will also be some development andmaintenance of SISS packages, if the incumbent contains this skill.
