The VP National Accounts Client Strategy & Innovation is responsible for partnering with the sales force to drive product and network innovation across our existing clients and to our prospects. This includes driving year over year growth across all Consumer Health & Services (CH&S) products with a strong focus on Accountable Care Solutions (ACS) strategy. Partner with sales and client management resources on strategic account development and strategy execution. Collaborate with the Market Heads, VP Strategic Client Development and Head of Sales, Service and Consulting Firm Relations to implement best practices within and across the Territories and Verticals, which embody the National Accounts brand promise and support business objectives.

Fundamental Components:

  • Supports National Head of Sales and Service and Consulting Relations in the development of National Accounts ACS/CH&S Sales Strategy.

  • Responsible for the development and execution of sales best practices. Collaborates with Market Leaders and National Head of Sales, Service and

Consulting Relations to deploy these practices in pursuit of a best in class sales organization.

  • Provides input (ACS customer reporting needs, member experience differentiators, and competitiveness of ACS financial arrangements for National

Accounts customers) to the CH&S organization.

  • Assist local market team with develop of purchasing cooperatives to drive ACS development.

  • Responsible for driving growth aligned to both the CH&S and National Accounts sales plans:

Develops, integrates, and implements comprehensive sales and marketing plans to meet National Accounts overall business objectives for CH&S

product sales and retention

Uses deep customer insights to assess need and develop tailored sales strategies

Cultivates long term key stakeholder prospect relationships and position Aetna as optimal solution before and when opportunity develops

  • Partner with Market Heads and Territory Leader to negotiate and coordinate ACO sales targets and distribution strategies appropriate for assigned territory.

  • Subject matter expert for full portfolio and its strategic positioning within National Accounts value proposition.

  • Gather and use competitive intelligence to best position Aetna as differentiating in the product arena.

  • Performs other duties as required.


Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing, direct sales, product management within the healthcare/insurance industry

5+ years of experience in a management role

Effectively utilize/influences resources not under direct control

Knowledge of healthcare/insurance industry

Best in class communication/presentation skills

Build solid collaborative relationships


Bachelor's degree required in marketing, social sciences, business administration, economics, finance or related field. Master s degree preferred, but not required.

Licensure as required by state, subject to product sold.

Location: Any US location near a major Aetna office will be considered
