We currently have an exciting opportunity at Aetna for a Sr Contract Agent with our Meritain Health team. This role will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, executing, reviewing and analyzing contracts and/or handling dispute resolution and settlement negotiations for various clients (i.e. self-funded, fully-insured, public and labor) of a benefits administration company in accordance with company standards while meeting and exceeding accessibility, compliance, quality, and cost initiatives. Fundamental Components: Drafts, negotiates, executes, reviews, and analyzes contracts and/or handles dispute resolution and settlement negotiations with clients in accordance with company standards. Leads assigned contract negotiations timely and successfully. Verifies contract compliance and adherence to company policies and procedures. Communicates effectively with Senior Management and internal customers to maintain working relationships and to ensure client and business needs are met. Applies knowledge of contractual terms and conditions to serve as one of the departments key negotiators for complex contracts.. Coordinates complex contracting activities, coordinates receipt and processing of contracts and documentation and pre-and post-signature review of contracts and language modification.Ensures resolution of escalated issues related, but not limited to, contract interpretation and settlement requests in a timely manner.Consistently performs the above tasks at an advanced or mastery level.Acts independently of management to influence and change others behavior and advance team effectiveness to meet department goals.Coaches and develops other department members.Other duties as assigned

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:Experience in successful negotiation of contracts demonstrating knowledge of best practices and conflict resolution.Experience leading projects and teams.Experience with mitigation of risk.Demonstrated experience monitoring trends and strategic direction in applicable industries.Experience managing diverse assignments and multiple priorities.Experience with coaching and mentoring others.


The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
