POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President, Behavioral Health is responsible for the growth of our industry leading our Behavioral Health business. This individual will be held accountable for a cross-functional team spanning Product, Clinical, Marketing, Sales and Account Management, Operations, and other functions to build and scale new offerings that will expand access to Behavioral Health products and services. They will be responsible for developing channel partnerships to accelerate sales and distribution of the product, as well as developing new products. The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial in nature and have the skills of a General Manager to drive customer and revenue growth through cross-functional collaboration, managing medical cost, influence, and leadership. They will represent Aetna as a thought leader within the company as well as the Behavioral Health field.

Fundamental Components:

Identifies opportunities and develops the strategic business plan for Behavioral Health; ensures plans and policies are fully implemented.

Develops market leading approaches to grow Behavioral Health including: Incorporating market research regarding consumer behavior and needs into market strategies; Comprehensive sales and retention strategies; Creation and execution of go-to-market strategies

Ability to build, cultivate, and support relationship building with key clients, brokers and agents with a focus on retention and customer satisfaction

Oversees line of business performance; Clinical programs; Ensures goals, strategies and tactics are communicated and executed throughout the regions

Maintains intelligence on competitors' strengths and weaknesses, products, pricing, share and value proposition.

Experience mastering complex federal and state by state legal environment regarding mental health/addiction services.

Skilled at proactive identification of risk issues and remediation strategies.

Active in industry trade organizations (ABHW etc.)

Strong financial and business performance, including medical cost management

Measures performance against budget to ensure that financial objectives and growth targets are met

Ability to master a complex, matrixed enterprise structure to advocate and promote Behavioral Health business

Builds strong collaborative relationships with peers and team

Gathers and translates competitive market intelligence and regulatory trends into strategies and actions

Proven experience inspiring and developing a highly focused, cohesive team of professionals accountable for driving strategy, actions leading to market leading performance

Advanced and proven emotional intelligence aptitude to quickly assess and react to large scale catastrophic events.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

Minimum 15 years of experience, including management roles with leadership experience and in behavioral health care.

Strong understanding of the industry and its key strategic and operational imperatives.

Skills desired: Experience developing and scaling a business or service line in Behavioral Health

Self-starter who can operate with limited guidance, but knows when to ask for help

Intellectual curiosity, relentless push for underlying insights and "why" to complex questions

Excellent ability to create logic-driven, data focused recommendations with an eye towards pithiness; excellent written and oral communication skills; PowerPoint mastery

Effective, compelling presentation skills

Excellent analytical skills (problem structuring and problem solving)

Proven ability to collaborate effectively and manage complex projects

Management of clinical functions with the ability to develop/retain talent and create employer of choice within their organization Positive attitude and proven team player

Fearless to take on new responsibilities or try something new

Outstanding flexibility, adaptability and sense of accountability

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
