Aetna Senior Software Developer (Server) in Denver, Colorado

This position will be a Senior Software Developer on a team working on server-side APIs, microservices, and infrastructure. While we are currently a ruby and node technical stack, we're actively looking for strong developers with any server experience.

a. No - we fix bugs based on the priority of all of our work.

a. Yes - The acceptance criteria for stories are defined before the story is pulled into a sprint.
- Do programmers have quiet working conditions?
a. We have an open floor plan; typically its fairly quiet.
- Do you use the best tools money can buy?
a. Yes. If you need a book, ask your manager and itll be ordered. If you need training, we have a training budget allocated for every employee. Were a Mac shop, so all developers have a top-of-the-line macbook.
- Do you have testers?
a. Yes, we qa developers and software developers who write unit and integration tests.
- Do new candidates write code during their interview?
a. Yes, new candidates take a code test during their onsite interview.
- Do you do hallway usability testing?
a. Yes. We have a dedicated Design team and are extremely focused on our customer experience.
3 years experience developing server apps and services.
5 years software development experience.
Experience translating large features into software designs.
Ability to estimate size accurately and deliver on-time and to specification regularly based on those estimates.
Ability to take responsibility for the implementation, quality, and operation of large features, such as an epic-level story or multi-sprint feature.
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
