Aetna Accountant, Medicare in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

This position will have Medicare accounting responsibilities and support the monthly financial close, journal entry preparation, internal control requirements, cash reconciliation and process improvement. Candidate will function in a fast paced environment that is continually changing and evolving.

Fundamental Components:

Support the monthly financial statement close through various activities including:

-Preparation of significant accounting entries

-Distribution of financial reports.

-Preparation of multiple account reconciliations and various data validations.

-Produce required SOX compliance evidence.

-Work with internal and external auditors as necessary.

-Evaluate processes for continuous improvement.


Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance

2+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance or relevant positions, Medicare focused is a plus but not required

Proven skills for performing accounting and analysis functions under short deadlines and as part of a team.

Proven analytical abilities and a problem solving mindset.

Strong Excel skills and the ability to manage large volumes of data used in journal entry preparation and analytic functions.

A desire to learn and develop process improvements.


Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
