2018 Summer Associate Program – Information Technology Project ManagementOur undergraduate summer internships are a great way to gain confidence, sharpen your skills and make a difference. You ll work side by side with people who value your enthusiasm and creativity. The 2018 Summer Associate Program lasts 10 weeks, 40 hours a week, from June 4th to August 10th. The project management positions will be offered out of Phoenix, AZ and Hartford, CT. You ll be assigned to a business within Aetna s Enterprise IT Delivery Organization division and work on tasks you would experience if you worked here full time. Summer Associates also participate in:· A cross-functional project that provides solutions to a real business issue Aetna is facing, and the chance to present their recommendations to senior leaders at the end of the internship · Community service initiatives· Mentoring program· Networking events· The opportunity to learn about our businesses and get exposure to senior leaders Fundamental Components:The Enterprise IT Delivery Organization provides a consistent, effective operating structure for managing IT projects through sound IT investment analysis, AIS project management methodology, effective AIS project resource allocation, and consolidated AIS project performance reporting. The Summer Associate Program will provide you with exposure to the following: · Web application security· Executing specific deliverables and activities as part of a team assigned to a business-sponsored IT project· Contributing to the review of Test Planning and Test Execution strategies· Completing project activities on time and within budget, and proactively identifies and communicates issues that may jeopardize milestones or project budget to the Project Manager· Adhering to APLC or AGILE project management methodology by utilizing internal procedures and tools and identifying areas for methodology improvement· Assisting in managing all key project governance documents, such as the Project Charter, Work Plan, Communications Plan, and Risk Mitigation Strategy· Assisting in managing to the project budget, and reports project cost information in an accurate and timely manner· Acting as the liaison between project team members, Project Manager, Program Manager and/or the Portfolio Manager to ensure that expectations and objectives are clearly understood by all parties, and to communicate project information including the status of deliverables, scope changes, and issues· Assisting in proactively evaluating project activities, builds contingency plans, executes corrective action, and monitors issue resolution to mitigate risks such as scope and/or budget Background/ExperienceCurrent student pursuing a 4 year Bachelors degree in a relevant field of studyOverall GPA of 3.3+ (required)Strong verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated leadership abilityGeneral Business/Applying Reasoned JudgementCommunication for Impact Leadership/Collaborating for ResultsAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of managementAbility to work independentlyProficiency with MS Office productsEducationThe highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a high school diploma or equivalent experience.
