In this Legislative Analysis Unit position, the Associate Counsel, under the supervision of Counsel, will analyze, interpret, and communicate requirements of newly enacted state and federal laws, regulations, and other legal guidance that impact Aetna's businesses and services.

Fundamental Components:

The successful candidate for this Associate Counsel position will work in the Legislative Analysis Unit under the supervision of Counsel. The Associate Counsel will: monitor state and federal legislative activity for impact to Aetnas businesses; analyze recently enacted state and federal laws, regulations, and other legal guidance and determine their applicability to Aetnas products and services; research and interpret laws and translate significant business requirements into plain language for internal business clients; provide legal guidance to business clients; and complete ad hoc projects.


-1-3 years experience within corporate healthcare or insurance environment or within law firm specializing in health related law -Expertise in legal research, analysis, and interpretation of insurance laws -Strong written and verbal communication skills -Experience with advising internal clients -Understanding of health and life insurance and related products -Willingness to embrace technology


The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a JD.
