POSITION SUMMARY:

In this role, you'll manage multiple multi-functional, high-value projects in support of business growth for Aetna International's Americas region. In addition, you'll identify and drive business process improvements, facilitate business optimization efforts across multiple stakeholders, oversee a broad range of regional initiatives and programs, and participate in mentoring and team development.

Fundamental Components:

We're seeking a seasoned and highly self-motivated Business Project Program Manager to work with all aspects of the International business, managing projects and programs across a range of complexities, topics, and teams. In this role, you'll make tangible contributions to a fast-growing, dynamic business unit, as a key member of a PMO focused on removing barriers to sales and retention, and to enabling overall business growth.

Key components of the job will include:

  • Proactively leads a program and/or most complex projects

  • Identifies gaps and recommends enhancements related to new and/or existing products, services and workflows

    based on broad view of the organization.

  • Collaborates and partners with other functional managers, other business areas across/within segments or other

    business areas to ensure all workflow processes and interdependencies are identified and addressed.

  • Consults with constituents (these may be internal and/or external) to scope/define project.

  • Influences change in order to improve performance results, organization effectiveness and/or systems/quality/

    services.

  • Collaboratively works across multiple functions and /or segments to obtain agreement from all impacted parties (e.g.,

    up and downstream effects often impact multiple functions and/or segments.

  • Responsible for development and implementation of new ideas that supports work/team.

  • Cross function/segment group facilitation/presentation.

  • Leads all project and/or program management work including monitoring and tracking of progress and status update

    communications.

    BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

  • Past experience managing complex projects in a matrixed environment.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams, departments, segments, and continents.

  • Past positions acting a project lead and directing a project team

  • Proven communication skills both written and verbal

  • Past experience developing and managing projects to budget

  • Proven ability to effect change/interpersonal skills

    EDUCATION:

    The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

    LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

    Project Management/Six Sigma Trained is desired

    Project Management/Project Management Certification is desired

    Telework Specifications:

    Preference is to work in the office in Hartford, CT or Tampa, FL. Will consider telework arrangement for current internal teleworkers on the East Coast. Training period will be office based.
