As part of the Strategy, Integration, and Performance Management Team in Aetnas newly created Consumer Health Products and Services, this role will play a critical role in setting the multi-year strategy of the organization and setting the organizational objectives and performance metrics that align operations to that strategy. Key specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, typically managing multiple managers and their work teams and/or most complex projects through to implementation. When cross-functional projects are managed, has full accountability for all aspects of projects and or programs such as financial, regulatory, marketing, etc. Other critical activities include executive communications, culture development, operating plan development and tracking, and cross-enterprise socialization of key updates and issue resolution with contact in various business units.

Fundamental Components:

Sets the direction of the strategic business plan and translates into vision for staff/othersAs a business leader, influences all stake holders to support key projects/programs to ensure positive outcomes that deliver on results.Drives change in order to improve performance results, organization effectiveness and/or systems/quality/services (e.g., policies, processes or systems).Identifies gaps in processes or organization and challenges self and others to develop and implement solutions.Directs accountability for impact to SG&A - Ensures accurate prioritization of key projects/programs within purview.Has ultimate accountability for project management services being delivered including organization and budget and/or financial implications.Encourages and applies a cross-functional mindset and exchange of best practicesDrives strategy execution with speed & resolve to create bias for action & first to market urgency.Manages the evolution of executive presentations from concept through final product


*10+ years managed care / health insurance industry experience related to high level projects and initiatives.

  • Multiple years proven leadership experience setting strategic direction and influencing change that resulted unquantifiable positive outcomes.

  • Proven track record managing complex projects and or programs that resulted in cost savings.

  • Experience managing large budgets.

  • Project management experience.

  • Supervisory experience.

  • Demonstrated negotiation skills.

  • Excellent business acumen skills, able to present to C-Suite / Executives.


    The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

    PMP Certification preferred.


  • Up to 25 % Travel

  • Office based and the locations are New York City, NY, Hartford, CT and Wellesley, MA.
