POSITION SUMMARY

Office Based in Hartford, CT

Aetna has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Executive Assistant. This position supports the HR leadership team for the HR's Corporate, International and Compensation areas. This role requires a high degree of professionalism and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Fundamental Components:

The core functions of this job include, but are not limited to:

Manage incoming work to ensure to ensure priorities are accomplished and unplanned items are addressed appropriately (particularly in Manager's absence).Draft correspondence for Manager's final approval (*) Monitor the status of delegated items to ensure closure. Maintain leaders calendars, including independently creating, rescheduling , and prioritizing appointments for both internal and external commitments, ensuring priorities are accomplished and unplanned items are address appropriately. Triage telephone calls ensuring correct action is taken without direction from the Manager Open, prioritize and respond to mail/email and/or direct to the appropriate area for response. Organize and maintain leaders' correspondence, records etc., following up on pending matters. Manage the budget for multiple cost centers, including forecasting and monitoring spend throughout the year. Lead special projects. Anticipate and coordinate end-to-end travel needs including travel, hotels, comprehensive directions, commuting time and ground transportation, etc. Approve expenditures for department up to assigned dollar amount.In Manager's absence, has authority to handle most issues.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

Must have 10+ years of executive administrative support experience, including supporting a team of individuals. Must be mature and capable of working independently. He/she must be collaborative and capable of working across all levels of the organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential.

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
