POSITION SUMMARY

Our team leads Aetna's Federal HHS Medical Loss Ratio financial reporting that encompasses gathering, analyzing, and validating large data sets from various financial sources. We're looking for this role to assist with enhancing data analysis and documentation as well as developing internal controls and managing projects.

Fundamental Components:

Gather and analyze data necessary for the MLR (Medical Loss Ratio) filing processes, including: preparing data reconciliations and using internally developed tools to research and analyze data.

Assist in managing projects to meet filing deadlines and internal goals.

Support audit requests by gathering detailed data, and process and control documents from supporting files.

Support information requests from external business partners.

Maintain and develop internal reports and other analysis tools in support of the review process.

Participate in the execution, enhancement and monitoring of internal controls.

Eager to learn and evaluate internal and external customer feedback and perform continuous quality improvement activities.

Ability to engage immediately and willingness to lead high profile projects with minimal supervision.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

Experience in accounting, finance or relevant positions desired

Technical skills related to MS Access and Excel

Strong organizational and communication skills required.

Statutory Reporting experience a plus, but not required.

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

The candidate should possess strong technical and interpersonal skills and be willing to join a fast-paced high-profile team in the MLR reporting department. The candidate will be responsible for learning and improving Aetnas MLR reporting related activities while working in conjunction with individuals in accounting, actuarial, legal/compliance, and tax departments among many others.
