Aetnas Security Data Analytics team creates cutting edge analytic tools to drive better and faster decision making within the Global Security organization. We are currently looking for an exceptional Senior Data Scientist to play a pivotal role in the creation and deployment of cybersecurity data products. The position is located in Hartford, CT.
This is a unique opportunity for someone passionate about defining and driving innovation in data science, cybersecurity, and big data analytics. The team currently uses an industry-leading scalable data platform and techniques to create solutions to challenging business problems. This role will require vision, drive, leadership, and frequent interaction with business partners at all levels of the organization. This is a fast-paced, collaborative and iterative environment requiring quick learning, agility and flexibility.
Helping define, drive and deliver all aspects of the data science product lifecycle, from requirements gathering, education, and strategy, to study design, solution architecting, programming, testing, implementation, delivery, and iteration of data science analytics products.
Extensive experience with the analytics space, including agile & scrum principles, data science, big data, machine learning, AI, data science workflow and development lifecycle and success criteria / MVP development for data science products.
Responsible for the end-to-end creation and deployment of new analytic offerings to support mostly internal global security customers, but indirectly benefit external customers and partners.
Analyzing log, security, and cybersecurity intelligence data and using quantitative methods to create actionable and timely data products.
Deep knowledge in machine learning, statistical analysis, security, and network data to model risk-driven models of consumer and workforce behavior and provide context to security analysts to drive business decisions. Provides strategic leadership and proactively recommends innovative research techniques and customer engagement opportunities.
Contributes to a motivated work environment by working effectively to achieve common goals.
Presents to management and existing security personnel information services, capabilities and performance results. Presents analysis recommendations to management.
5+ years of customer interfacing experience (internal or external), demonstrating excellent ability to communicate technical ideas and results to non-technical clients in written and verbal form, and reliable executive presence.
2+ years related experience with security data analytics, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, machine learning techniques, and visualization tools.
Proven experience in predictive analytic modeling, preferably in large volume, high velocity, categorical data sets such as machine data.
Proven experience with statistical modeling for linear and logistic regression, non-parametric statistical tests and non-gaussian distributions, including model efficacy measures and associated assumptions.
Creative problem solver, driven to answer complicated questions in a meaningful manner using scientific techniques.
Extensive experience with SQL, Hive, Hadoop, and Spark.
Experience in Python or R programming languages.
Experience with data visualization techniques, principles and tools, such as Tableau or D3.
Extensive experience in the big data, analytics, programming, statistics, and cybersecurity.
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Master's degree.
