Create, implement, and evaluate training tools and programs to support the development of the skills and competencies that our Aetna sales teams require to effectively achieve Aetna's business goals. Sales teams in the following businesses are our primary customers: Medicare, Middle Market, National Accounts, Public & Labor, Small Group, and Specialty.

Fundamental Components:

Function as a member of the Dynamic Curriculum team within the Sales Learning & Performance (L&P) department. The Dynamic Curriculum team supports our sales colleagues in building their talent and expertise to continually strive toward being THE world-class sales team in our industry. Our industry is quite dynamic it changes and evolves constantly and requires that our sales force continually learns new things and elevates their skills. The Dynamic Curriculum team provides solutions to performance gaps that arise as the business evolves.

Responsibilities and fundamental components include:

Develop and maintain strong relationships with sales team members as well as sales leaders Initiate steps to become and remain entrenched in our customers businesses Consult with business partners to identify and address performance improvement opportunities Create, develop, and implement comprehensive solutions that drive and sustain behavior change and that result in improved performance and business results Develop and execute strategies to measure results and impact of individual initiatives Contribute to efforts to achieve team and department operational excellence Collaborate with other members of the Dynamic Curriculum team, members of the departments Core Curriculum team, as well as other corporate and functional training areas for impact and integration of efforts Commit to, and follow through on, own professional development goals and actions


Learning Expertise deep knowledge of adult learning principles, strategies for driving and sustaining behavior change, and tactics for measuring results and impact; stays abreast of industry trends and integrates relevant information Business Savvy understands the health care industry and Aetna's business as well as how things work and how to get things done at Aetna (or large matrixed Fortune 50 corporation) Consulting deep and thorough root-cause/needs analysis; actively listens for customers spoken and unspoken needs, concerns, and issues; has a global view to recommend and design relevant comprehensive solution options Presentation & Facilitation commanding and engaging presence; appropriately adapts style to the audience; delivers information and explains concepts in a clear concise manner; resolves conflict and manages room dynamics Sales Orientation understands the nature and rigor of sales in our industry, the expectations placed upon our sales teams, and the differences in needs based on business area; relates well and able to quickly build credibility with sales people

Education and Certification Requirements

Bachelor's degree required 3 or more years experience in a corporate training or related function requiredEducational background plus knowledge and application of performance-based instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, education media, and performance consultingExperience with sales and/or health insurance strongly desired


The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
