Responsible for the day to day management of multi-disciplined technology teams and ensuring an advanced, high quality, stable middleware infrastructure environment. Visualize, communicate and deliver strategic direction for next generation middleware technology and usage.
Manage a team of highly talented and diverse Middleware engineers that designs, implements and supports enterprise technologies enabling Aetnas computing environments. Responsible for the advancement of strategic middleware platforms and technologies, like API Management, Hybrid Cloud, DevOps, Big Data tooling and reporting as well as legacy transactional platforms. Provide infrastructure engineering services, initiative project management and environmental support for integrated middleware environments. Deliver high quality, cost-effective and responsive computing solutions and integrated technology services for Aetna's middleware and related infrastructure environments. Ensure initiatives and technology lifecycles are well managed to maintain a highly performing and highly available integrated systems infrastructure. Set standards and direction for staff to ensure their success in enabling the business to achieve superior customer satisfaction.
4-7 years web and systems engineering experience in large scale and distributed enterprise environments. 3+ years practical experience leading and managing people. Significant experience interacting and working closely with vendors on software packages. Computer Science degree and/or the equivalent work experience in infrastructure technology disciplines. Cloud computing experience a plus.
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
