Responsible for performing paralegal tasks for the Intellectual Property law team in relation to a range of product, subject matter and operational areas under the direction and supervision of applicable attorneys.
Paralegal will support intellectual property counsel and manage Aetna and its subsidiaries patent portfolio, other IP and technology assets. He or she will assist with different kinds of intellectual property transactions, IP-related due diligence matters in mergers and acquisitions and with other technology-related projects and initiatives at Aetna. Trademarks, Domain names and Copyrights; providing support to brand, advertising, digital media and social medical business clients. Reviewing and drafting legal documents. Conducting legal and investigative research and analysis with respect to IP and technology law-related issues. Managing an IP software database system to track due dates, generate reports, and docket trademark and domain name data.
5 to 10+ years of relevant legal and business experience, including demonstrated proficiency in specific practice area(s).
Demonstrated command or mastery of paralegal subject matter.
Demonstrated analytical ability, communications skills, judgment, integrity and organizational skills in managing cases, projects and assignments.
Bachelors Degree preferred, Associates Degree at minimum.
