Aetna's Medicare Informatics Data Intelligence Team is growing, and this is an exciting time to join us as our Sr. Informatics Business Systems Analyst. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining both technical and functional documentation for our Data Engine, Reporting Portals and Web Applications. In this fast-paced environment, the candidate will have opportunities to train end users in the use of a wide variety of web application and reporting portals as well as contribute with SQL Query development.
Core responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
(*) Analyzing database table structures and reverse engineering Entity Relationship Diagrams.
(*) Creating and maintaining documentation that describes database tables and relationships for multiple functional areas within the overall structure (made up of 1200+ tables and views). This documentation will need to include all details needed by Business Intelligence Analysts who will develop queries to answer business questions.
(*) Creating and maintaining reporting portal and web application documentation. Work with developers to create technical documentation. Work with business analysts, business partners and end users to create functional documentation.
(*) Work with business partners and end users to develop and document Business Needs and Business Requirements documentation for project and enhancement requests.
(*) Conduct tutorial and training sessions with business partners and end users in the use of our reporting portals, web applications and the Data Intelligence Data Engine.
(*) 5 or more years of healthcare, health insurance, or relevant combination of experience
(*) Proficient in writing and maintaining technical and functional documentation.
(*) Ability to explore database tables and structures (DB2 and MS SQL Server) for the purpose of developing schema diagrams and technical documentation.
(*) Ability to write and execute SQL queries in DB2 and MS SQL Server.
(*) Understanding of application development structures for the purpose of developing technical documentation.
(*) Ability to train others in 1 on 1 and group settings.
(*) Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and negotiate across the business and in the external health care environment.
(*) Strong reporting skills using Excel, Access, Word and/or PowerPoint.
(*) Contributes and creates a motivated work environment within the team.
(*) Working knowledge of Agile methodologies including SAFe using Scrum and Kanban concepts.
(*) Working knowledge of the following are a big plus: SAS, C#.NET, Tableau, Business Objects Enterprise (BOE), Team Foundation Server (TFS).
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
