POSITION SUMMARY

Support the growth of Aetna membership by providing customer-focused, strategically oriented questionnaire responses for Request for Proposals. Strategic Proposal Writers are also responsible for the network statistical portion of the RFP response.

Fundamental Components:

Strategic Proposal Writers are responsible for supporting our field sales force in retaining and growing Aetna membership by developing strategic customer-focused questionnaire responses within proposals. This includes customizing existing content as well as editing standard responses to ensure alignment with overall case strategy. The Strategic Proposal Writer also gathers required sample materials from internal system resources. Our Strategic Proposal Writers are responsible for understanding Aetna products and services as well as customer and market specific dynamics. Additional responsibilities include responding to proposal follow-up, completing ad-hoc requests, and participating in project initiatives. This position is located on the Public Sector Sales Support team of Aetnas Public & Labor Segment. This is a team of high caliber individuals who are all committed to meeting the needs of our Constituents. We have the ability to develop the right processes and make the right decisions for the benefit of our segment and our customers. This position is based in CT but does have the potential to offer opportunity for part time telework. We are looking for a self-motivated team player who enjoys working in a dynamic and fast paced environment. An individual who can effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all audiences, resolve problems, prioritize, multi-task, and build and maintain relationships with our field organization and subject matter experts across the country and throughout the company. The successful candidate will have the ability to be creative, apply personal initiative in the development of comprehensive, high quality proposals, and manage the flow of incoming work with aggressive deadlines effectively and efficiently. This position is a good match for a candidate who thrives in a team setting and wants to broaden and grow their health care and insurance knowledge.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. We are seeking experienced professionals with previous marketing and/or proposal writing experience with knowledge of the health insurance industry. Will accept new college graduates that have had experience writing in school newspapers.Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and internet navigation is desired.

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
