POSITION SUMMARY

Support underwriting functions as directed by supervisor in support of stated mission and key performance measures. Scope may be limited to a single (or minimal number of) products, markets, financial arrangements and/or rating methodology. This position involves technical work and some application of underwriting, accounting and/or financial principles. The work is task driven.

Fundamental Components:

Responsibilities include: - Provides administrative underwriting process support for new and established business - Produces timely and accurate results - Analyzes input/outputs for reasonability (e.g., benefit validations, benefit summaries, etc.) - Performs administrative support functions as directed (e.g., input data, analyze results, report metrics, create plan designs, etc.) to achieve appropriate outcomes for internal and external constituents - Utilizes various tools, reference materials, and source systems for plan and product information - Requests additional information as necessary and explains needs - Maintains integrity of source data and/or data systems - Identifies and collects information critical to decision making

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION

Additional Candidate Information - Knowledge of Aetna medical and specialty products, including dental and pharmacy, via claims, product development, drafting, underwriting or installation experience, with knowledge of the Aetna systems supporting those products, is highly preferred. - Analytical, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills are essential. - Knowledge of Microsoft Office products; knowledge of Word and Excel are particularly essential. - Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex information in simplified terms - Ability to understand, explain and apply state and federal legislation - Must enjoy working in a fast-paced, team environment and be adaptable to changing priorities - Must be detail oriented and experienced in analyzing information and data - Experience with CCI, PER/S, and claims systems a plus
