POSITION SUMMARY

We are hiring an Application Developer for our Technical Support team. This position will develop, maintain, implement, and troubleshoot applications and reports used to identify overpayments, automate manual processes, and provide technical support to PIAB staff. The preferred candidate has experience managing work in this type of environment, working on multiple new implementations/new services, researching issues, and contributing to improved efficiencies.

Fundamental Components:

Strong knowledge of mainframe programming languages including but not limited to COBOL, CICS, MQ, DB2

Strong knowledge of VBA and Microsoft Access

Intermediate knowledge of SQL

Support day to day production inquiries and questions from other technology groups.

Efficiently manage incoming requests for technical or data analysis to support business related issues.

Preparation and distribution of standard reports in accordance with established schedule.

Write specifications by defining, validating and translating business needs into system and data requirements.

Implement changes and enhancements on existing tech applications (Access applications and Excel Macros)

Address data quality issues; work with business partners to build business understanding of data issues.

Handle individual workload and deliver upon project milestones on time

Excellent communicator both verbally and written with coordination and facilitation skills.

Ability to multi-task and complete in a timely manner multiple assignments.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

Requires in-depth knowledge of Microsoft toolsets.

Ideal candidate will be required to lead the technical design of complex, highly re-usable processes including the creation and maintenance of technical application and component design specifications.

Ability to code to the technical specifications and often times, guide other technical resources through development activities.

Responsible for interacting with multiple teams while working through technical and design issues in order to support the applications.

Ability to work independently as well as in small groups, performing technical activities including analysis, design, development, and testing and production installation of all components applications.

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
