POSITION SUMMARY

Remote Field Case Manager to coordinate medical care for Workers Comp and facilitate safe and appropriate Return to Work.

Fundamental Components but not limited to the following:

Remote Field Case Manager to coordinate medical care for Workers Comp.

Job consist of:

  • Attend office visit and conferences with physicians

  • Coordinate medical care and evalutions

  • Interact with adjusters, injured workers, employers, physicians, attorney;s and UR, to facilitate safe Return to Work and appropriate medical care

  • Report writing

  • Occasional marketing with manager and marketer

  • Travel (generally 2 hour radius) is approximately 75% of the time

    BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

    Minimum requirement: RN and at least 2 years experience as an RN (ortho, neuro, ER)

    CCM certification preferred.

    Hospital case management or home care/hospice experienced preferred.

    Previous work at home experience preferred

    Skills needed for job:

    Good time management skills

    Good writing skills

    Flexibility/Adaptable/Trainable

    Comfortable meeting with physicians & attorneys

    Knowledge of laws and regulations governing delivery of rehabilitation services.

    Job-specific technical knowledge, (e.g., knowledge of workers compensation and disability industry for workers compensation case managers or case management).

    Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

    Effective communications, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

    Ability to work independently (may require working from home).

    Proficiency with standard corporate software applications, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, as well as some special proprietary applications.

    Effective computer skills including navigating multiple systems and keyboarding

    EDUCATION

    The minimum level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Associate's degree or equivalent experience.

    LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

    Nursing/Registered Nurse (RN) is required

    Nursing/Certified Case Manager (CCM) is desired

    Functional - Nursing/Case Management/1-3 Years

    Functional - Nursing/Home Health Care Ambulatory Nursing/1-3 Years

    Model candidates: working as case manager in WC either telephonic or field remote position, experienced home care of hospital case manager or discharge planner, orthopedic or trauma nursing experience, charge nurse, previous experience as a legal nurse reviewer, comfortable making decision and taking action, organized
