The role requires B2B product marketing skills to drive development and execution of the annual BI&A enterprise product portfolio plan. The primary focus of the role initially, is the multi-year enterprise launch of the ART (Advanced Reporting Transformation) offering. The internal launch runs across Aetna's sales, account management teams and third-party consultants across the company's multiple segments (National, Mid-market, Small Group, Public & Labor). The Director will align with Aetna's BI&A product management teams and will support ART deployment to segment sales and customer account teams selling and renewing business with Plan Sponsors. The ART product is being deployed to drive Aetna's differentiation with Plan Sponsors and compete more competitively for renewal and net new business growth. The Director will be both a strategic thinker and tactician.

Fundamental Components:

Directly accountable as the strategic marketing consultant to the BI&A business driving a new product to market. Accountable to manage budget, segmentation, value proposition design, and lead the market research Defines the dashboard to measure market impact and investment ROI. Establishes framework, designs and builds strategic marketing plans and launch strategies through in-depth use of data and analytics, segment market insights and product knowledge. Lead the product marketing function to support the enterprise launch of ART with value proposition, messaging and sales enablement. Accountable for strategies to elevate the ART product across the Aetna enterprise specifically to Sales, Account Management and third-party consultants. Identifies and executes on opportunities to drive new thinking, documenting the value proposition and content to innovate and work efficiently with marketing through new or enhanced programs and tactics designed to drive new business growth.


15+ years strategic marketing experience: e.g., develop audience segmentations, core value propositions, messaging strategy for different segments, direct creative teams, lead market research to measure impact and efficacy of marketing investments, etc. Strategic marketer who can put together multi-channel acquisition and engagement programs. Proven experience developing brand, value proposition, messaging and thought leadership content for the BI&A portfolio. Proven digital savvy Aetna is a highly matrixed organization and so, this role requires a seasoned communicator who can optimally work with multiple stakeholders. Since the BI&A product portfolio (and function) is evolving, the ideal candidate should be comfortable working as a change agent to build out the marketing function.


The highest level of education desired for candidates is a Master's degree or a Bachelors degree with relevant work experience.

Functional Experiences:

Marketing strategy and execution experience with specialty in business intelligence, analytics and/or informatics.
