POSITION SUMMARY

Family Summary/Mission

Designs enterprise wide and/or cross-functional solutions to address business problems. This work results in initiatives that significantly impact company strategy enabling Aetna to be competitive in the marketplace and effectively serve its customers. Partners with business owners to optimize the achievement of strategic business objectives, to include profitable growth and improved organizational effectiveness. (Focus includes one or more of the following disciplines: Management consulting, business process/project consulting, financial strategic analysis, mergers and acquisitions, strategic business planning, and, or risk management consulting)

Position Summary/Mission

Involved in initiative develops, ongoing client support for assigned initiatives that impact the delivery of products and services to the internal and external environment (See Family Summary). Interacts with external vendors, external consultants, consulting team members and/or matrixed staff as required in development of initiatives. Develops and supports transferring knowledge, best practices (external and internal), methodology and tools to client organizations. Participates as a team member, may develop concurrent initiatives based on resource requirements.

Fundamental Components:

Fundamental Components & Physical Requirements include but are not limited to

Manages and executes performance improvement initiatives to improve operations utilizing a wide range of performance improvement tools and methodologies (i.e. Lean/Six-Sigma).Conducts interviews, fact-finding, and independent research to design creative, progressive operational solutions for business problems.Performs analysis to assist with the translation of business needs into business requirements

Applies specific functional and/or business expertise to perform assigned tasks and develop specific project deliverables.Assists with the development of business workflow diagrams and process maps.Documents, tracks, and resolves issues related to data quality, as required.Contributes to collaborative system and data design sessions with the user community, technical architecture resources, and development resources.Completes project activities on time and within budget, and proactively identifies and communicates issues that may jeopardize milestones.Develops and supports thorough business case and external customer value analysis to determine selection, prioritization positioning and approach for broadest range of potential solutions (e.g., outsourcing, process improvements, technology solutions).Responsible for scoping performance improvement initiatives, acquiring stakeholder buy-in and leadership support, and establishing metrics and milestones.Coordinates data collection, analysis, and assessment through both physical observations and system reporting.Gathers, analyzes and synthesis business intelligence to drive achievement of strategic business objectives.Collaborates with Operational Excellence team members to support ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

Healthcare experience

Ability to recognize complex problems and apply creativity to analyze situations, develop solutions and procedures

Knowledge of structured IT application development lifecycles, methodologies beneficial for this role

Demonstrated experience in utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools and continuous improvement methodologies

Experience with moderate scale initiatives with moderate degree of complexity

Operational experience in a relevant discipline

Demonstrated superior business process, project management and organizational redesign experience

Demonstrated experience successfully implementing change in complex organizations

Bachelors Degree

MBA, MPH, or Masters Degree related to Quality/Engineering

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
