POSITION SUMMARY

Office based in New York, NY No telework option at this time.

This position on Aetna's Digital Communications team plays a key role in further shaping and advancing Aetnas digital communications and thought leadership efforts. Reporting to the Director of Digital Communications, this is a highly visible and collaborative position. Working closely with Enterprise Communications leads and other business partners, you will help them achieve their communications goals by creating innovative digital content and engagement plans to help reach varied audiences with Aetnas story.

You should be a digital communications pro, skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously and working across teams in a matrixed organization. You have proven yourself capable of exerting influence on others without direct management responsibility a true team player who thrives on regular interaction with team members across the organization.

This position will be based in our New York City office.

Work across Enterprise Communications to plan and execute digital communications and engagement, from audience identification through content & channel strategy.

Support Aetnas key communications narrative themes with unique digital engagement plans that ensure effective strategies and tactics to engage desired audiences. Serve as an internal consultant and partner with communications leads for each of these initiatives.

Manage and grow our employee advocacy program with LinkedIn, including managing content curators, monthly metrics, training

Work closely with and influence teams responsible for digital content production to ensure content is appropriately planned, targeted to and adapted for audiences across digital and social channels.

Publish on digital media channels as needed: externally (LinkedIn, Twitter, Aetna.com) and internally (intranet)

Identify new and innovative ways to grow and engage audiences.

Tell the Aetna story in new and exciting ways, including infographics, video and animation.

Monitor internal social conversation on our intranet and work with teams to respond to comments

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

Requires advanced knowledge and specialized expertise in at least one communication discipline and experience in one of several sub-disciplines (may include media/public relations, internal/executive communications, public affairs, and marketing or community relations).

Experience developing and executing successful communication programs at the enterprise level or for major business organizations.

Experience in writing and editing all kinds of communication on short notice and as part of long-term initiatives..

Track record of proactively identifying and pursuing relevant opportunities that resulted in increased audience awareness and understanding of the core message(s).

Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate with other communication professionals toward a common goal.

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
