Aetna SR. Front-end Development Lead - React/Redux in New York, New York

Senior UI Development Lead, who can effectively manage our ongoing, cloud-based reporting application development team. The team is geographically distributed and is composed of both FTEs from several Aetna departments and on-shore and off-shore consultants from a variety of firms.
Architecture and development of our front-end applications that support the visualization of Business Intelligence dashboards, reports and ad hoc report generation workflows
Provide leadership to the UI development team, including designing novel approaches to business requirements and technical challenges as we move forward
Design and implement UX/UI interfaces that support UI and BI component interactions
Unit and Functional testing of applications before deployment
Support for deployments and debugging production
Work closely with cross-functional team leads in the design and development of enhancements and new modules
Expert level understanding of React/Redux development tools
Experience designing and development analysis and reporting applications based on healthcare data
Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles
Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token (oauth2)
Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Web pack, NPM, etc.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs using Node.js & Express.js
Experience working with Serverless and amazon cloud deployment
Experience with SPA client-side development (ReactJS)
Experience with Git/GitHub and the Git Flow process
Experience integrating with CI/CD deployment methodology
Experience in hands-on UX/UI development
Expert in data modelling and implementing applications using MySQL for metadata management
Strong unit testing habits and an exacting attention to detail
Strong problem-solving ability and a positive attitude
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Minimum 8 years of experience in software development
Experience working with an Agile/SAFe development model
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
