Position Summary:As the Clinical Director of Behavioral Health Services, you will be dedicated to the KanCare program and the populations served by our Long-Term Services and Support (LTSS), Behavioral Health and all clinical teams. The Clinical Director of Behavioral Health Services is essential for ensuring the delivery of integrated behavioral health support services to individuals receiving long-term services and support and of covered populations. The Clinical Director of Behavioral Health Services position is responsible for working with our Chief Medical Officer for Behavioral Health to help manage our integrated services including behavior crisis prevention, intervention, and stabilization services. In this role, you will also be accountable for working with other Medical Officers and the Pharmacy Director to ensure the integration of physical, behavioral health services, and long-term services and supports for individuals across different populations.
Additional Responsibilities of the Clinical Director of Behavioral Health Services:- Oversee integrated behavioral health support services provided to individuals receiving long-term services and support and covered populations- Direct quality improvement initiatives regarding behavioral supports and the appropriate use of psychotropic medications in different populations- Evaluate, develop and implement clinical programs, policies and procedures that meet business needs- Direct/provide enhancements to processes, policies and infrastructure to improve operational efficiency- Formulate and implement strategy for achieving applicable department/unit metrics and provide operational direction- Develop and manage clinical operations focused on improving clinical and financial outcomes, member engagement and satisfaction- Implement and monitor business plan and oversee any implementations or transitions that affect service operations- Enhance relationships with providers, facilities, plan sponsors, regulatory agencies- Serve as liaison to regulatory and accrediting agencies and other healthcare business units- Serve as a technical, professional and business resource to others across various business functions- Develop and participate in presentations and consultations with existing and prospective customers- Participate in internal and external healthcare industry development efforts- Collaborate with other business areas across regions, segments, and other centralized corporate areas to ensure all workflow processes and interdependencies are identified and addressed on an on-going basis
Required Skills for the Clinical Director of Behavioral Health Services:- Kansas psychologist license, board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license, or Clinical Nurse Specialist license with an Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) degree- 8+ years clinical and project leadership experience- 3+ years of management experience in a healthcare setting- Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)- Experience directing behavior support services- Ability to apply rigorous financial and value analysis that enhances profitability - General knowledge of healthcare benefits business- Sound clinical knowledge and demonstrated recognition as a credible clinical resource- Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills- Knowledge of governmental and regulatory authorities- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.) and strong keyboard navigation skills
Preferred Skills for the Clinical Director of Behavioral Health Services:- Experience managing case management and/or utilization management functions- 3+ years of experience in a patient care setting- Experience with intellectual and developmental disabilities populations- Experience with motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care
Education: - Master's degree or equivalent experience
