The Rating Environment Communications Team is seeking an experienced underwriter who has an interest in working on the ERNIE system. The Project Manager will be responsible for supporting the business activities related to communications, training, and user support for the ERNIE large group underwriting rating system. Monitors requests for assistance from customers, responds promptly and accurately and maintains issue database. Identifies gaps, recommends enhancements, and writes system specifications for new and/or existing rating system workflows based on broad view of the organization, with a primary focus on underwriting. Identifies cross-functional support required to achieve business objectives.*This is not an IT Project Manager role.Fundamental Components:

  • Serve as a main representative for the Rating Environment Team Communications Team on various projects and work groups.

  • Utilize various means of communication such as emails, flyers, training documents, or videos in order to educate and inform the user community of system enhancements, process changes and system issues or fixes.

  • Prepare and present topics at ERNIE Champions meetings.

  • Lead in-person trainings for new hires.

  • Participate in ERNIE Assistance, working firsthand with users to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Utilize underwriting background to help build a library of educational tools (written binders and videos) for the user community.

  • Collaborate on projects with the LGRS Business Team, Core Actuarial, the Programming Team, UPT and the MMACT/NURA/FISC Team.

  • Exposure to the behind-the-scenes process of building and maintaining the ERNIE Large Group Rating System.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and drives successful change within the organization.

  • Collaborate with Enterprise ABX resources to leverage various LEAN and 6 SIGMA tools to drive a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Lead project and/or program management work including monitoring and tracking of progress and status update communications.

    BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:· Minimum of 2+ years of medical underwriting pricing methodologies.· Strong Underwriting background with knowledge of conventional funding (fully insured) and ASC, with experience in both New Business and Renewal, is preferred.· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience of effectively with all levels of management. · Ability to use standard corporate software packages and corporate applications, ERNIE experience is strongly preferred.· Must be able to independently organize workload and manage multiple projects, while adhering to strict timelines.· Positive attitude and strong desire to help lead the way in improving our systems and educating our users.· Proven track record in meeting project milestones, negotiating for resources, and attention to detail.


    The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
