Support Aetna's ability to achieve its financial and strategic goals through effective support of financial closing, planning and forecasting processes. Such activities drive the quality and integrity of P&L/cost center owner level reporting, membership and/or expense forecasts, product reporting and balance sheet reporting. Direction is to provide financial analysis and recommendations in support of management's evaluation of strategic and business initiatives
*Manage the Monthly Close Process, which will include the completion and review of revenue, claims, administrative expense and balance sheet journal entries as well as key balance sheet reconciliations
*Manage the completion of Budget vs. Actual analysis and report findings to Management
*Assist in the preparation of the Annual Budget and Quarterly Forecasts
*Manage processes that control/monitor of key drivers to achieve business goals.
Evaluate, analyze, and present financial information relative to plans and goals, benchmarks, and other data to senior management.
*Provide forecasting estimates to assist in future budgeting and resource requirements.
*May be responsible for supervising and developing models for financial forecasting and reporting functions Develop and implement strategic direction and policy within area of responsibility Identify, research, develop and recommend solutions to improve business results.
*Manage Financial Associates/Analysts by overseeing staff development, providing career path guidance, and delivering performance evaluations.
*Oversee and direct unit workload/priorities. Ensure clear unit accountabilities exist.
*Recommend hiring/firing/pay decisions.
*Ensure unit has resources necessary to perform functions.
*Through sharing technical expertise in functional area, coaches, develops, and influences others.
*5+ years related accounting/financial experience (generally required), CPA desired.
*Excellent Accounting Skills
*Excellent Problem solving skills
*Excellent analytical skills
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Finance/Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is desired
Functional - Finance/Financial analysis - P&L support/4-6 Years
Functional - Finance/Financial analysis - closing, planning, forecasting processes/4-6 Years
Functional - Finance/Financial reporting and analysis - internal control/4-6 Years
