Under direct supervision, support the install and pre/post implementation of large scale and midrange hardware/software technologies. Become knowledgeable in Aetna's computing environments to enable Aetna to meet service level agreements and respond effectively to changing business requirements.

* This is a M-F 6AM - 2:30PM Day Shift *
SUPPORTING PRODUCT MANAGEMENT: (e.g., Endevor, Tivoli, PVCS, Omegamon, others) Configures, installs, supports and upgrades hardware/software supporting products. Customizes, maintains or develops code as required for operational support to meet technology and customer requirements.
SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT: (including storage, mainframe, midrange and Windows servers) Monitors and tunes certain infrastructure-level environment products and business applications to ensure satisfactory performance and availability (e.g., Code Asset Management, electronic output management, operations event management and monitoring tools). Identifies performance and availability related issues impacting service. Tunes resources or recommends changes to resolve performance and availability issues and to improve resource consumption. Monitors/tracks/reports on resource usage and service. Ensures that the infrastructure is sized and positioned with the appropriate hardware (mainframe and midrange processors, storage devices and other supporting equipment) to meet the business demand. Builds forecasts based on business drivers, considering also the potential for unplanned and unforecasted requirements as needed. Assesses new infrastructure technologies and business projects and translates these into cost estimates, software contract implications and desired licensing models. Develops strategies to license in the most cost-effective manner, and manages lifecycle of software contracts including investment management, acquisition, deployment and reuse of inventory.
