We are looking for an Sr. Financial Analyst to perform complex assignments requiring advanced analytical and technical skills.This is a high visibility position that requires the ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner with senior leadership and a variety of internal business partners while functioning in an environment characterized by frequently changing priorities. May serve as Subject Matter Expert for the Medicaid unit, participating in and sometimes leading special projects and ad hoc reporting requests as needed. Prefer candidates with a managed healthcare background and strong finance skills. Strong Excel and Hyperion/Essbase proficiency highly desired.

Fundamental Components:

-Use financial analysis to assist in the evaluation of strategic options, business opportunities and business issues.

-Support new RFPs and annual case renewals with analytical insights, trends and accompanying metrics.

-Own, update, and improve complex models to facilitate more efficient workforce planning and forecasting of staffing needs.

-Collaborate with various Aetna functions, segments, and markets in support of business development activities.

-Partner with market and segment leaders to identify and resolve financial issues.

-Understand local market dynamics to assist in the award and implementation of new business opportunities.

-Prepare complex ad hoc monthly reports as needed for expenses, staffing, and key performance metrics.


*5+ years finance related experience generally required, healthcare finance a plus.

*Collaboration with other finance areas and working cross-functionally across enterprise

*Developing and implementing new processes and best practices

*Must be a self-starter and possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team

*Ability to build financial models

*Proficient with Microsoft Office

*Hyperion, Oracle and SQL experience a plus

*Strong writing and communication skills


Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
