POSITION SUMMARY

Please note: This is a full time, work at home position that can be worked anywhere in the U.S.

Responsible for collecting and interpreting clinical and psychosocial details regarding an opioid overdoses, applying advanced motivational interviewing skills, ability to perform medication reconciliation as well as linking the patient to treatment and recovery services and facilitating transition to detox, treatment, or aftercare.

Fundamental Components:

Responsible for the provision of telephone-based consultation, counseling and informational services to members following an opioid overdose. You will be reaching out and making calls to members who recently overdosed on an opioid, and providing them with personalized support and appropriate referrals for assessment and substance use disorder treatment to help overdose survivors find recovery and improve their lives.

Plays a critical role in engaging overdose victims, empowering them to make self-determined and self-directed choices about harm reduction strategies as well as a recovery pathway, when appropriate.

We reimburse clinical staff license renewal yearly fees and we reimburse up to $300 a year in CEU's and provide free CEU opportunities. This role offers the opportunity to pioneer a new program at Aetna.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

Experience in handling addiction, mental health and psychiatric issues, family situations; Required

Strong understanding of opioid addiction, mechanism of action to opioids and benzodiazepines, risks for overdose, substance abuse issues; Required

Experience in facilitating client positive behavioral change; Required

Strong computer & literacy skills; Required

Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence; Required

1+ years of Substance Abuse Disorder, EAP, Behavioral Health or Social Services experience; Required

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred

Excel experience is preferred

Call Center experience is preferred

Crisis intervention skills preferred.

EDUCATION

The minimum level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Master's degree, BSN, or ASN.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT)

Key Responsibilities:

Provides telephonic outreach to members, following an opioid overdose.

Assesses members immediate clinical and social needs and utilizes appropriate clinical tools to identify and provide services.

Engages members and provides immediate support, with guidance from a script, decision tree, and treatment referral information.

Provides telephone counseling to individuals with a variety of presenting issues including but not limited to mental, emotional, disorders, conditions, addictions, lifestyle management and work-life concerns.

Primarily individual short term sessions.

Provides clinical services utilizing a variety of advanced clinical assessments, therapeutic interventions and/or models, which supports the level of care and engagement of members and are in alignment with the members theory of change.

Critical Skills and Competencies:

Uses appropriate and acceptable judgment, clinical theories, knowledge, methods, ethics, and professional use of self to restore or enhance social, psychosocial, or bio-psychosocial functioning of members.

Promotes a flow of information throughout the organization

Demonstrates a clear understanding of marketplace dynamics and broad trends
