The Underwriting Consultant will support large plan sponsors in the PEO organization. This role can support our Renewal and New Business. The role will support Aetna's ability to achieve its financial and strategic goals through effective underwriting. Underwriting support primarily includes identifying, evaluating, and managing risk to maximize revenue, membership and earnings. The underwriter will provide superior service in support of writing and/or renewing Aetna's medical business and will include interaction not only with internal constituents but also directly with plan sponsors, brokers, and consultants. #WeJoinYou #AetnaCareers #PEO

Fundamental Components:

The Underwriting Consultant will support the sales process by performing accurate underwriting analysis and risk assessment for complex new and/or renewal case files. This role primarily involves working with fully insured arrangements. Essential Functions: · Handles casework and issues autonomously using knowledge of Aetna's products/services and underwriting protocols. · Completes accurate financial analysis and risk assessment to evaluate specific strategic options and opportunities independently. · Recommends and suggests alternatives. · Focuses on quality while completing internal processes efficiently. · Manages multiple tasks and effectively prioritizes work. · Develops and delivers financial exhibits and documentation.· Negotiates and fully explains rate development, pricing components and application of underwriting policies while remaining conscious of financial objectives. · Proactively communicates technical concepts to internal and external constituents. · Collaborates and shares information cross-functionally.BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:· 1-3 years of pricing experience via all types of medical pricing methodologies (manual, experience, blended, alternate, etc.) and funding arrangements. Previous Aetna or PEO experience is a plus.· Proven ability to anticipate customer needs.· Proven ability to facilitate and negotiate using tact and diplomacy.· Outstanding ability to build strong cross-functional relationships with sales force and other internal organizations. · Knowledge of Aetna systems supporting those products and rating methodologies preferred.EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Telework Specifications:

Flexible telework / office-based schedule may be considered after training is completed. Ideal location is Hartford, CT but will consider Tampa, FL, Philadelphia, PA, Atlanta, GA, High Point, NC, Sugar Land, Texas and other offices locations along with potential for 100% work at home.
