POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Partner provides broad HR consulting for senior business leaders in Aetna Markets and is member of the local management team. Functional client areas that this position will support include provider network management, commercial group sales and account management, including Medicare sales, in the designated market(s). The HR Partner will be instrumental in identifying and implementing short and long-term talent strategies required to achieve and exceed our business goals within this progressive and rapidly evolving industry. Key elements include anticipating and building for future organizational needs, delivering on talent requirements and ensuring a competitive edge through our people. This HR consulting role will support multiple leaders and levels within or across a territory, located in the Southeast geography.

  • Serves as strategic business advisor to leader(s) to ensure organizational effectiveness, talent development and management practices that are well aligned with business goals

  • Develops the talent strategy required to successfully align structures, costs, metrics and rewards, with high performing talent capabilities.

  • Drives workforce planning and actions that build organization capability aligned with the larger organization and specific to local strategies.

  • Builds ongoing talent review practices that build depth and breadth of bench strength by consulting on selection, onboarding, development, movement/rotation, performance assessment, pay and rewards/recognition.

  • Establishes and monitors organization and talent metrics aligned to business strategy; coach and consult with leadership on how to leverage data indicators and inform progress against goals.

  • Provides insights and alignment to Aetna's enterprise talent strategy, including assessment of talent gaps, needed areas of expertise, and the creation of a strong general manager pipeline for senior leaders.

  • Provides management development/coaching that aligns behaviors with Aetna's leadership competencies and drives business outcomes.

  • Partners with leaders and HR colleagues to drive organizational transformation through ensuring a high performance culture, including diversity and inclusion initiatives

  • Provides support in identification of change management implications as well as provides consultation on planning, tools and resources and communications.

  • Consults with leaders on resulting compensation decisions and practices that drive and reward desired behaviors

  • Provides actionable information through data and analysis in order to guide management plans, make informed decisions and optimize resources

  • Drives HR Business Advisory practices through the organization as part of the larger Business Advisory Services HR team.

  • Establishes HR practices within assigned business unit(s) to ensure management accountability for their responsibilities, including guidance to subject matter experts or use of HR resources (broker HR services)

  • Leverages best practices, external HR and industry trends to inform a consultative approach and offer alternatives.

  • Collaborates with HR Centers of Expertise, HR Consulting peers and Shared Services experts in the development, implementation, measurement, and evaluation of broad-based HR initiatives

    BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

  • 10+ years strategic human resources consulting experience with demonstrated expertise influencing the business and shaping HR direction.

  • Experience in coaching and influencing senior leadership teams

  • Demonstrated experience in organizational design/development and change management

  • Ability to utilize all HR levers, along with business knowledge, to drive achievement of goals

  • Experience in leading significant change efforts

  • Organizational design/development and change management project experience

  • Talent retention/development experience.

  • Demonstrated experience consulting across businesses preferred

    EDUCATION

    The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
