Support actuarial functions by serving as a subject matter expert and acting as a lead on the team. The territory shared services role is a mixture of leading projects for the market teams as well as working on longer term innovation projects. This requires strong technical background to do accurate and timely work as well as strong interpersonal skills as you will work with a variety of teams, departments, and workgroups. The ability to take ownership of a project, work with team members to complete the project, and effectively communicate results is critical. A strong combination of soft skills (e.g. ability to work well in a team setting and with other departments) along with strong technical skills is essential to the long term success in this position
Join the West Shared Services actuarial team directly supporting Aetna's Local & Regional Business in the West Region. Working on a shared services actuarial team will give you exposure to market level work by leading projects for the market teams as well as the opportunity to influence the broader organization by working on long term innovation projects. You will have exposure to all the core pricing functions including reserving, product development, pricing, medical management, underwriting, product, and sales strategy. Lines of business include the commercial segments of Small Group (both ACA and AFA), Large Group (both fully insured and AFA), and Public & Labor. In additional to strong analytical skills strong communication skills are desired as this position will require communication with a variety of people and departments.
Bachelor's degree along with 5+ years relevant experience.
Must be an ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuary) or FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuary) and is typically a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (or other accredited actuarial organization) able to sign state rate filings and other required actuarial certifications.
Knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Access, SAS/SQL preferred.
Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Actuarial/Fellow of the Society of Actuaries is desired
Actuarial/American Academy of Actuaries is required
